    Her parents and two older sisters Louisa and Alice would have been present. All the other entries in the register give the child's date of birth. Why Ethel's is not given is not known. However, her birth registration in the first quarter of 1893 shows that she was born in December 1882 or early in 1883. The long interval between birth and baptism is unusual.
