Individual Note

As his baptismal record gives only his father's name it is impossible to trace his matriarchal line through this register entry. However, a record for the marriage of an Edwd Lauderdale to Ann Crenkley on 14 November 1779 in Simonburn, Northumberland was found. The date makes it credible that William who was born in November 1783 could be their son. Therefore it is considered highly likely that Ann Crankley is William's mother.
