Although the CRI gives the registration district as St Olave, Southwark the 1881 Census gives her birthplace as Horsleydown. St.John Horsleydown was a small parish on the south bank of the River Thames, opposite the Tower of London and is a probably a more accurate location.

horsehair weaver|| The entry contains the word Brush which appears to have been entered at a later date so it is assumed that horse hair weaving was connected with brush making. However horsehair cloth was also used as a hard wearing fabric in upholstery. This is the only census which records any employment so it is not known how long she worked.
