The children Arthur, Edith and William stayed overnight and were then sent on to St Margaret's Receiving Home, Leighton Road from where they were sent on to an 'appropriate' institution probably Leavesden Industrial School near Watford Hertfordshire which was known locally as St Pancras School.
William left on the 27 August but there is no record of his wife Rebecca or their child Caroline leaving.
