It is known from the 1901 Census and his military record that Herbert Snowdeen married a Lucy. A search of Free BMD only produced one credible fit - that of a Herbert Peter Snowden marrying a Lucy Mary A Smith in 1896. However, the registration district of St George Hanover Square was a surprise as it is largely within the City of Westminster and is mainly composed of 'up market' areas.
Census for household:
2 Apr 1911 (age 40)

Address: The Row
The household consisted of Herbert, his wife Lucy, and their children Brodie (age 14), Herbert (age 12), Jack (age 10), Lacey (age 9), Archie (age ), and Oliver (age 2). They were living in 4 rooms but whether they shared the house or cottage is impossible to tell from the census return.
1939 Register (Household):
29 Sep 1939 (age 68)
Lexden and Winstree Rural District, Essex5
Address: 27 London Road, Marks Tey
The household consisted of Herbert and his wife Mary, their daughter Joyce and 4 redacted entries which are probably Joyce's children. Joyce's husband Edward was soldier so it is thought that Joyce (and their children) had come to stay with Joyce's parents for the duration of the war.
