Her birth date is given in her batismal record and as there were only four months between her birth and bapism it is assumed that she was born at the address given in the baptismal register. The Scottish Birth Certificate for her youngest daughter, Winifred, also records her date and place of birth. However, the date given is the date of her marriage, i.e. 4 Sep 1899, which would have made her 10 years old when her daughter was born! The certificate also records her place of birth as Clapham where she was married. This is also an error. How the errors were not spotted by the Registrar is a mystery.

The groom and the bride gave the same address on the Marriage Certificate - 120, Manor Street which is where the William was living with his parents at the time of the 1891 Census. It is therefore assumed that Emily was lodging with the Rosams. One of the witnesses was a George Gudgin which could have been her father or her brother. The relationship of the other witness Elizabeth Clarke, if any, is unknown.
